Let’s talk about why this Blog?

Hello, we are Daniel and Susanne Fengler.

We want to welcome you to “The Psychology of Jesus”, a blog especially designed to share the real Jesus with the world – apart from the religious, churchy image.

We know this will help to grow your spiritual journey.  We are very passionate about this topic, partly because learning to walk with our Creator God has changed what we think is important in life!

We have also seen the same results in countless of other people’s lives as well, over the 30 years we have been in Christian Counselling.

It is important to know something about the people you are working with – that’s why we designed this page.

We came to Australia in 1974 as Secondary teachers on a two-year contract from the USA.  We liked Australia so much we ended up staying….  for over 35 years.  We moved to Healesville, Victoria and …. built a house….but not just any house.  Daniel read 45 books on solar design before we started!  These have been very good years for us!  Even though we enjoyed teaching, we didn’t just stay there.

In 1996 we changed careers into Personal & Relationship Counselling at Crossway Baptist Church, Melbourne Australia. We helped develop and run a Counselling Center …. and it grew and grew.

We found ourselves in common purpose with an inspiring group of about 20 to 25 dedicated people, including 10 Lead Counsellors, assorted trainees and support staff.… and in a brand-new building!   It was an amazing journey! We worked in that part of the Harvest field for over 12 years. As you can imagine, we met some amazing people! 

We didn’t stop at this part of our journey either.  In 2008, even though we are ‘semi-retired’, we did change directions – we jumped into another whole new career – Mentoring and Coaching.

Susanne has been involved Website and Blog design on the side. since 1990.  It is from this solid base of experience, commitment and vision that we launched www.mentorsnotebook.com www.pins4you.mentorsnotebook.com

We have a ‘warehouse’ of courses, worksheets and units we have developed since we help run the Counselling Centre. We have continued Counselling and Mentoring, teaching Courses until today!  It’s this material we want to share with you!

In case we didn’t have enough to do, we have an 18-foot Ultimate sailboat. Daniel is a keen sailor and enjoys the sailing on Port Philip Bay outside Melbourne, Australia.  We have also joined a 4-wheel driving group with our church for more adventures into the countryside around Melbourne.

Susan: “We need to know what is stored in our Heart that keeps us from God and the abundant life He promised.

“This is more of a journey than a onetime event. God often exposes what is in our Heart through buttons that others

push.  When we get offended about a particular situation or with a person, we have a reaction to that event or person.

“We need to learn to deal with the buttons pushed by others to help us see what is in our Heart and work through Heart issues.  My reaction means it is my button.  I cannot make others not push my buttons; that is manipulation and subtle control of others – so that I don’t get hurt.  Rather, we need to learn to use the buttons being pushed to find out the roots of such reactions.

“A good example of this is when we moved into our new home and I organized the kitchen as I wanted it.  Many times, my husband would come in and make changes as ‘…. this is more logical’.”

“Finally, I asked the Lord why I was so upset at his actions – my button. Where this button was coming from?  He showed me a 13-year-old Susan standing with Mother, who had just re-arranged my closet and drawers, tossing precious things out without my knowledge.  Where was the real button?  …. with my mother taking over my possessions. God love us too much to leave the harmful pain in our Heart.”

“So, join us as we continue to share the events, treasures and milestone we have learned. Enjoy our Blog!” Some of the areas we’ll explore include Mental and Spiritual Health, Relationships, especially Male / Females ones, marriage and Conflict resolution. Then Issues Males and Females face is important too.“

So, you can see that we have over 20 years of personal and professional experience behind us.  That’s one reason why we invite you to join us in on this website and begin the greatest journey of your life!  Even if you haven’t jumped into the debate on ‘Is there a God?”….  how about staying with us because you can hear from your Creator whether you believe in Him or not!

The Purpose of this Blog? I’m glad you asked.

My writing career has just ballooned! We now have over 60 different FREE eBooks! Yes, we need your email address to send you the books but we promise, we promise we will never sell, give away or reuse your address again!

We want to share these with you.
